* Surveillance: theo dõi người nào vì tình nghi làm điều trái phép.
- The police are keeping the suspects under round-the-clock surveillance=Cảnh sát theo dõi kẻ tình nghi cả ngày lẫn đêm.
* Supervion: giám thị, giám sát, trông nom.
- The children were left without adult supervision=Trẻ em không có người lớn coi chừng.
- Supervisor=giám thị: The students gave their essays to the supervisor=Học sinh nộp bài luận văn cho giám thị.
- To supervise=giám thị, coi: The teacher supervised the children during the class="Gi"áo viên giám sát học sinh trong lớp.
=> Giám sát, theo dõi kẻ tình nghi, dùng surveillance; giám thị với nghĩa coi chừng, dùng supervision. Người giám thị, dùng supervisor.
